The New Normal

I think I am ready to date after being divorced for 18 months.  But I don’t exactly know what to do with that.  A few friends have said that I need to put myself “out there.”  Well, I would be happy to do that if someone could explain to me what that meant.  Where is “there” exactly?  No one seems to be able to give me a clear definition of that.

About eight months after the divorce, a friend talked me into trying Match.com (you could use the word bullied instead of talked and it would be  a more accurate description, but let’s not quibble.)  I did it for three months and it was one of the most horrifying experiences of my life.  In that time, I didn’t “meet” one person that I would have wanted to go on a date with.  I had conversations with a few, but it…
